RTD Financial Advisors
Atlanta, Georgia
My primary message to women is “do not underestimate yourself!” No matter what your experience – stay-at-home mother, full time professional, part-time home and work juggler – you need to know that you have developed valuable skills along the way. None of your time has been wasted. My goal is to lead women to confidence around money, yes, but that confidence needs to extend into every other aspect of your life as well.
After almost 20 years in the banking industry, I was drawn into my second career as a Certified Financial PlannerTM because of the personal interaction with clients. I particularly enjoy listening to each client’s unique story and helping her create the financial structure to support her life’s path. And I know that creating that structure is only part of the job. We help our clients identify their core values which brings a new level of clarity to their life goals and direction for the resources available to achieve them.
When I first entered this profession I met many advisors who had been careful savers and serious about money their entire lives. Not me! I was fortunate to have college provided for me, lucky to find a great job right out of school, not terribly careful with credit cards, and possessed enough optimism that saving for a rainy day seemed totally unnecessary. I was asked how in the world I expected to help clients if I did not have a history of disciplined behavior with my own finances. It seemed obvious to me: I would be able to relate to and understand my clients’ behavior, and offer my own story as I helped them see the reward of building financial assets, eliminating debt, or allowing their children to work their own way through financial struggles. I am particularly drawn to working with women who are ready to achieve greater confidence around and knowledge about all matters financial.
I lead Women’s Money Circles in the Atlanta area. Join us if you’re local so you can turn your money issues into a collaborative experience!
