“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
- Theodore Roosevelt

I feel very fortunate having grown up during the 1960’s and 1970’s to older-than-average parents. It was a backdrop that provided me with more opportunity and autonomy than my “sisters” from earlier generations. I remember always being an active learner, self-directed and disciplined, but with a consistently strong desire to help others. There were early volunteer experiences with the local YMCA/YWCA, 4-H, and tutoring that provided an outlet for self-expression and community involvement.

Given my early realization that I lacked my mother’s artistic genes, and that my natural gifts were in math and problem solving, I decided to channel them in a way to serve others. That’s what put me on a 25-year path in the financial services industry; with the last 12 years dedicated to comprehensive financial planning.

Working with clients is a very personal experience. It’s just as important to know the client as it is to know the details making up her financial life. Comprehensive financial planning is a holistic process that starts with who you are and where you are, today. It can help you change your life direction or feel greater certainty about where you’re headed. My approach is designed to educate, enlighten and empower your experience with money. A strong balance sheet will lift your confidence to confront life’s eventual “hiccups” (e.g., divorce, job loss, aging parents), when they arise.

I typically work with Georgia residents on retirement and post-retirement planning. My most meaningful work has been helping widows and spousal caretakers adapt to their new role as financial steward, working through the emotions of selling and buying a home, preserving their financial ability to live independently (in some cases, while maintaining a spouse in a skilled care facility), and encouraging activities to enhance their daily lives.
